A Chaotic Christmas

In the middle of 2025, I made a quiet promise to myself — that when life finally opened a better door for me, I would gather my family again for Christmas and relive the warmth of the old days.

I started planning our first major family gathering for December 25, 2025. My only aim was to gather as many close relatives as I could and bring back the warmth of the traditions we once knew. ❤️

First, I reached out to my uncle’s family who live outside Cebu and invited them to celebrate Christmas with us. I was really happy when they agreed, and without hesitation, I booked their tickets right away. I also contacted my aunts, uncles, and cousins to share the plan, and little by little, everything began to come together.

The Children’s Christmas Party

To make the celebration even more memorable, I organized a small Christmas party for the children earlier in the day, before Christmas Eve, while everyone was eagerly waiting for midnight to arrive. It was my way of adding extra joy and excitement to the occasion, especially for the younger ones who were looking forward to the festivities.

On December 24, I went out with my mother and my two aunties as we made our final preparations for the big celebration. Together, we drove around to gather everything we needed — from ingredients for our Noche Buena feast to treats and goodies for the children’s party. We also prepared simple games and carefully selected prizes to make sure the kids would have a fun and memorable time. The atmosphere was full of anticipation and teamwork as we checked off each item on our list, making sure nothing was left behind.

To complete the celebration, the children’s party was wonderfully hosted by my cousin, Bambet, who helped bring everything together with energy and warmth.

As the children’s party began, everyone gathered at the venue, and even some passersby stopped to watch the kids happily enjoying the games. Before we knew it, all of us were cheering for the children and even placing our own bets on who would win the prizes.

One of the most exciting games was the trending color game. The children lined up, and whenever the host called out a color — like “red” — they had to quickly run and stand on that color. The excitement from both the kids and the adults watching was contagious. Parents, aunties, cousins, and even our neighbors were all laughing and cheering throughout the game. It became so much fun that even the adults wanted to join, and of course, I couldn’t disappoint them.

After the children finished playing, I invited all the “young at heart” participants to take part in the game as well. Everyone joined enthusiastically as we went through practice rounds and eventually the final round. Seeing how much they enjoyed it made me so happy. To make things even more exciting, I prepared consolation prizes for those who didn’t win and generous rewards for the winners. Everyone was in high spirits—laughing, engaged, and truly enjoying the moment. Afterward, our neighbors went home with smiles on their faces and lovely memories they could hold onto and cherish.

The Christmas Eve

Then midnight arrived, and everyone exchanged warm greetings of “Merry Christmas.” The atmosphere instantly filled with joy and excitement as the celebration carried on with drinks, dancing, and lively music playing in the background. Laughter echoed through the night as everyone let loose, enjoying each other’s company and the long-awaited reunion. The festivities continued well into the early hours, with no one wanting the night to end, until we were finally too tired to go on. 😂🤣

Looking back, it truly felt like a mission accomplished. I had successfully organized a joyful children’s party and, most importantly, brought most of my immediate relatives together under one roof. It was a meaningful moment of reunion and celebration, one that made all the effort feel worthwhile and deeply rewarding.❤️

Now, I’m hoping we can do it all over again this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll be able to bring everyone together once more and relive that same love and happiness🤞

I will end this Christmas blog by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to my friends who accepted my invitation and took the time to be part of the celebration. Your presence truly made the occasion more meaningful and joyful, turning a simple gathering into a memorable experience filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. I deeply appreciate your effort in coming and sharing in this special moment, and I will always cherish the memories we created together. ❤️
