That Final Fling

Before I officially started my journey of working abroad, my friends and I made sure to create one last memorable moment together — a simple but meaningful final fling celebration before life got a little busier and distances became real.

Back then, I was working remotely for a web hosting company when one unexpected LinkedIn message changed everything. A recruiter reached out to me asking if I was interested in a new opportunity. One conversation led to another, and eventually, I got hired. Fast forward to today, and I’ve already been working with them for a year now — something I’m still truly grateful for.

Of course, before leaving, we knew we had to celebrate properly. So we planned a little bye-bye bash and booked an overnight staycation at Tambuli Seaside Living.

We rented an Airbnb room good for four people, just enough for our small circle to relax, laugh, reminisce, and spend quality time together before I flew abroad. Instead of going out, we decided to bring everything we needed ourselves — food, drinks, alcoholic beverages, and of course, cake to make the night feel extra special.

It wasn’t a grand celebration, but honestly, those are usually the best ones. No pressure, no fancy program, just genuine conversations, endless laughter, random stories, and the comforting feeling of being surrounded by people who matter most.

Looking back now, that night became more than just a simple staycation. It became one of those core memories you quietly carry with you while navigating a different life in a different country. And sometimes, when things get overwhelming abroad, remembering moments like that somehow makes everything feel lighter.
